I think everyone has their magazine of choice and mine is definitely Cosmo! I wanted a whole years worth/collection but missed three months this year so started again for 2014
(If you can see the date of this magazine, you can see how long I'm postdating from. Naughty blogger! Must complete challenge!)

This may a bit of a boring one but I seriously couldn't live without this little, battered and bruised tin. It's got so bad I can't use any other flavour. My love for cocoa butter <3

This a photo of a Calla Lilly that is growing in my garden. My mum is ecstatic that she's cultivated such a beautiful flower and I think it's lovely too. My photo skills don't highlight it anywhere near how good it looks but I hope it gives you an idea!

I've been spending a lot of time with my good friend Ria recently. After a week on holiday with her, seems like we still can't get enough of each other! This is a silly snap we took before we went out. We're all for the silly picture after all the posing. I think we both look so happy in this snap.

I recently bought myself an iPad, I say recently it was almost 3 months ago now but I've been addicted to so many games since! Some, that have really held my attention, among many, many others, are Simpsons Tapped Out and Paradise Cove. Paradise Cove is the one that I have screenshotted below. You basically build up your little town and complete quests. I'm a little sad, I know!

30 Day Snap #17 - Quotes

Hey!

If you're a little confused to what this post is about, check this one out- LINK

I love inspiring quotes as I think they can instantly change your mood or outlook on something. I found this one on beloved Pinterest (my go to for quotes) and thought it was quite apt for me. As said before, I am a constant worrier and tend to over think things to the extreme, a little more 'going with the flow' could definitely benefit me!
p.s my love for this quote is tripled by the fact it comes from Sex and the City, one of my all time favourite shows!

How I Deep Clean My Brushes

Hey!

Deep Clean Brushes
Before: Dirty orange tinted brushes

To be quite honest, before I started this blog I had no interest in brushes. Make up went on well with my fingers, in fact I can do one hell of a smoky eye with my hands so why would I buy/need a brush?

However once I started blogging, I found myself lusting over brushes. I did own some brushes, a few Clinique ones from when I had my prom make up done, a few cast offs from my mum, but like I said I had no interest in them.
When my girl friends bought me the Real Techniques Core Collection and Powder brush for my birthday however, I was  thrilled! Now I intend to build up my collection but before that my current ones needed cleaning. Being new to the brush world, I was both apprehensive and scared to even put my brushes near water for fear of ruining them.  Also I had no idea what to wash them with. After some research, I found mild shampoo and hand washes seemed to be the general consensus (if not a proper brush cleaner).

Deep Clean Brushes
Asda's own Hydrate and Cleanse handwash (the honey one)

This was the only hand wash I had to hand (geddit? ;)) so I decided to use that. Being honey, I hoped that it wouldn't be too harsh on the brushes and the anti bacterial part of it reassured me it would get rid of all the nasty bacteria. I don't believe either of those aspects are a necessity, as long as you aren't using anything too harsh, it should be fine.

I was unable to get pictures of the process I used (balancing a camera with one hand, running water and trying to rinse a brush seemed to be asking for trouble) so I'll do my best to explain it in easy steps.

1. Dampen brush with warm water
2. Pump your cleaner of choice onto the brush
3. Swirl on the palm of your hand to create a lather
4. Repeat if necessary (needed for my buffing brush)
5. Rinse (I found cold water got rid of the foam best)
6. Squeeze out majority of water, reshape and leave to dry (as you can see, mine are on a window sill on a fetching Daisy Duck flannel)

Deep Clean Brushes

And that's it! Easy peasy! While researching I did see many warnings not to get water on the ferrule (the metal part connecting the bristles to the handle) as it may make your brush moult so be careful of that!

Hope this post was helpful! What do you use to wash your brushes?

30 day Snap #13- Beach Visit!

Hey!

We went to beach a few days ago when the sun was sooo bright, the sea really clear, it was lush. Obviously when we went to take pictures, it would be overcast and the sea murky looking but alas that's the beauty of this challenge, not every snap is perfect.

Are you doing this challenge? What did you do today?

Miss Sporty Its Not My Name nail polish review

Hey!

Miss Sporty nail polish

With summer and my holiday soon approaching, my desire for a neon polish in my collection became too much. I went on the search for a neon pink as I thought this would look great with my skin tone, especially with a tan.

I saw a lot of nail polishes that claimed to be neon but they just weren't bright enough for me. Finally I found this gorgeous pink with blue undertones and a sheen finish. This is Miss Sporty's It's Not My Name, I picked it up from my local Superdrug for an amazing £1.99. It's the best neon polish I've seen and was opaque in two coats.

I've heard that neons look best with white underneath so the first time I put this colour on, I did this. I did find it popped more with the white underneath, however I was left with small white parts showing through near the edge of my nail. This looked messy. This is probably due to my bad nail polish application but I took this off and re did them for the above photos. I still think this polish looks quite bright without the white so I'm still super happy!

I'm not sure about the wear of this as I put it on today but if its like other Miss Sporty nail varnishes, they usually wear after about 4 days which is absolutely great for under £2!

Have you tried these polishes? What do you think?

30 Day Snap #10- OOTD (kind of)

Hey!

This is probably my favourite outfit of the holiday! I've developed a real love for crop tops and I feel like this one really set off my tan. I picked this up in Topshop for £10 on the spur of the moment but I've really started to love it!

Top: Topshop
Shorts: International/ MK One (old, old, old)
Lipstick: Sleek Heartbreaker (matte)

Spot Treatment

Hey!

Spot Treatment

I've had spots since I was about 12 and unfortunately, I can't say that I left them alone! I picked at all of them and have been left with an uneven skin tone and scarring. Even now, I haven't learnt my lesson. I wouldn't recommend picking spots as it both spreads them (no one can just pick one!) and if you continuously pick them, they will scar.

My mum recently bought some Aloe Vera Gel for cuts and scrapes and suggested me putting them on my spots. I've found that, whilst using this, spots calm down and if they have scabbed, heal so much quicker with this gel. I apply it at night to the spots and gently pat it onto the skin. You really only need the tiniest bit as it spreads easily. I feel that it would be better applied twice a day, however I once put it on in the morning and then powdered and the powder clung to the gel so just be wary of this.

My mum bought this at work so I can't tell you exactly how she got hold if it, however with a little research I've seen that you can pick some up in Boots (not the same brand). I believe that anything with Aloe Vera in it will give you some sort of benefit as its know as a healing plant.
It's marketed as a non irritant but please ensure you're not allergic to anything in the product.

Have you got any spot treatments that you like to use?

30 Day Snap #9- Birthday (Or Not)

Me and Ria weren't together for our birthdays, which are a couple of weeks apart so we decided to have a "second birthday" out in Tenerife. We bought tops and drew on them for a bit of a laugh and decided to go out in them! It was a really enjoyable night and we had a 'few' drinks to celebrate ;)

30 Day Snap #8- Water Park

Hey!

If you're a little confused to what this post is about, check this one out- LINK

We spent the day at Siam Park, a water park, today. I would thoroughly recommend it to everyone! The slides were really good and I'm not usually much of a ride fanatic! Plenty to do for both children and adults. I chose this more zoomed out picture as it shows you my favourite part, the HUGE wave pool! Every half an hour or so, huge waves would be generated and I loved jumping them (and occasionally being knocked down by them!!)

MUA Undress Me Too palette

Hey!

This post isn't a review, more of a 'I bought this and thought I'd share it with you' one.

MUA Undress Me Too

MUA Undress Me Too

MUA Undress Me Too

MUA Undress Me Too
From left to right: Corrupt, Obsessed, Wink, Naked, Devotion, Shy, Fiery, Lavish, Dreamy, Tranquil, Exposed, Reveal
Sorry for the photos, I didn't realise they were dark until after swatching!
Another product picked up for my sisters prom look (as well as for myself, as I get to keep it afterwards!), I thought these eye shadows would be perfect for the look. This palette has been said to be a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked palette so i was quite intrigued by it, despite not owning the UD one.
This palette has neutral creams and browns in it with one black. There are nine shimmer shades of varying shades of cream, taupe and brown and three matte shades. I think this palette has a good range of colours and the colour pay off is good for the price. There are a couple of dud colours like Lavish and Reveal, no attempt of building up could make these colours come up on the swatches; especially Reveal which shows just the tiniest shimmer at the end of the line. I picked up this palette from my local Superdrug for £4, so despite the duds I still think its worth a try! The bronzier colours being more pigmented.

My favourites are Shy, Fiery and Obsessed. Have you got this palette? What are your favourite shades?
