30 Day Snap

Hey!

The 30 Day Snap is a challenge of sorts that gets you to take and upload one picture every day of June. It was thought up by Sprinkle of Glitter and I thought I would give it a go!

Some days it may just be a picture, others the picture may have a story behind it. We'll have to wait and see! I will be cheating already with this challenge as I am going away on the second week of June, however I intend to upload a bumper amount of holiday snaps when I get back to make up for it! I've also scheduled some blog posts whilst I'm away so you shan't miss me too much!

If you fancy having a go too, you can see Louise's full blog post here- LINK

See you on the first of June!

First Impression: Maybelline Colour Tattoo

Maybelline Colour Tattoo On and On Bronze

Hey!

I've been trying to track down this cream eyeshadow for what feels like years! They had every other colour in stock but every time I went to look for On and On Bronze, all there was was a dried out tester. Finally in a small Boots near my Nana's, I was able to pick one up.

I wanted this product as I'm quite lazy with eyeshadow and wanted something to give a slight wash of colour to my lids. As well as this, I thought it would be perfect for my sister's prom look. For some reason, she's trusting me to do her make up! She wanted a neutral eye look as she didn't want to experiment with colour too much. I've posted a picture on Instagram of the look, and a blog post is pending. Since then, Olivia has decided she wants more of a cream base, so back to the drawing board!

My first use of this was for the above swatch, and I was really impressed with its staying power. I washed my hands thoroughly three or four times before any sign of product wearing showed. The shade is perfect for a neutral look or as a base for more eyeshadow. You can build the colour up to opacity or leave it as a slight shimmery look. Overall I was really impressed, and am thinking of picking up another colour, either Eternal Gold or Permanent Taupe.

Have you tried this product? What did you think? Check out my Instagram! @alexgeorgie_

May Favourites!

Favourites

Hey!

Crabtree and Evelyn La Source Hand Therapy

I got this hand cream from an event goodie bag but had left it at home when I went to university. Since returning, it's had pride of place on my dresser. I love the fresh fragrance and it's quite a thick cream so I feel like my hands are getting a good nourishing. I have to remember to put it on before my Vaseline though, or I can't open the tin!

Soap and Glory Mist You Madly body spray
My friend bought this for me because of my love for S&G and as usual they don't disappoint. The fragrance is made up of bergamot, blackcurrant, magnolia, freesia, vanilla and musk, which leaves you with a mildly fruity, sweet scents which I absolutely love!

Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick in 130 Oxford St. Fuchsia

This lipstick has a little story behind it. I picked this up on a recent trip to Superdrug, where I showed my true make up junkie colours to two of my best friends. Obviously this couldn't end well, we spent two hours in there, I encouraged them to spend £100 between them and we were so tired after, we had to go home! Back to the lipstick, I wanted to stray from my fuchsia pinks so was on the hunt for a more subdued colour. I found it in this purpley baby pink which I think is perfect for day time and as the colour isn't too dark, would be perfect for mirror less touch ups.

Real Techniques brushes (Core collection and powder brush)

These were a birthday gift from the two aforementioned friends and I couldn't be more happy with them. Cult blogger brushes, designed by one half of Youtube's Pixiwoos sisters, these synthetic brushes apply make up evenly and are super soft. They also look pretty in the jar I've got them in!

Cocoa Butter Vaseline

I must admit this isn't a May favourite. It's an all year round, 'don't want to use any other lip balm' lip necessity. I couldn't do without my little tin and never have any less than three around! Extremely moisturising with a cocoa butter scent, you can't go wrong!

Garnier Summer body moisturising lotion sun- kissed look
I used this last summer and repurchased again this summer. It's a great gradual tanner as well as a moisturiser, giving you a sun kissed tan. Scented with apricots, its the smell I now associate with holiday. Be careful when purchasing though, it comes in two shades 'light' and 'dark'. I mistakenly picked up the light which has absolutely no effect on my skin.

Solait Tinted Bronzing Foam
After the gradual tan mishap, I decided to try some fake tan. As I'm mixed race, many people don't think I need it, but I'm quite pale so thought a little fake would hurt! As I wasn't sure I'd like it and didn't want to spend too much, I picked up some of Superdrug’s own and was very impressed. Its a foam tan which comes out dark brown and had me quite intimidated at first. However it left me with a lovely colour that developed over four hours and wasn't streaky.

Good Things skin care
I reviewed this a little while ago, but I'm coming to the end of it now! I love the fruity smell of it and it seems to have worked wonders on my skin. I'm not going to go out and repurchase it immediately as I want to try some different products but no doubt at some point I shall

Non beauty favourites...
Snapchat
This app seems to be loved by everyone. If you haven't heard of it, it's an app which allows you to send snapshots to your friends but they will only be able to view it for up to 10 seconds. If you were my friend on it, you would have the benefit of receiving many unflattering photos of me pulling the craziest faces I know

Wrigley's Doublemint chewing gum
I haven't had this gum in years and picked it up on a whim as I like to have gum or mints in my bag. The flavour just bought back my childhood and I'm quickly munching through the pack!

First Impression: L'Oreal Micellar Solution

Hey!

L'Oreal Micellar Solution

This is a new feature I'd like to add to my blog; first impressions. This would be where I'd use the product one or two times and give you my first impressions of it, but not quite a full review.

I had quite heavy make up on yesterday so I thought it would be the perfect time to try out this solution. What is meant to be L'Oreal's answer to Bioderma, this product claims to dissolve make up and tone skin.
I put some of the solution on a cotton pad, held it over my eyes for about 30 seconds and then wiped it over the rest of my face. I found it took off majority of my eye make up (I was left with a small bit of eye liner) and all of my base make up. My face felt fresh and really clean afterwards. I loved how my face felt, however I'd still like to wash my face afterwards. I've know some people use it to take off their make up and then leave it at that but personally I'd use it as a make up remover used before a facial wash, unless I was feeling really lazy.

Unfortunately I've never used Bioderma so I can't compare the two but I really like this product and the feeling it leaves you with.

Have you tried this product, or Biodema? What did you think?

Weight Update

Hey!

Check out my last weight blog post for some reference- LINK

Just a quick update, I've lost about half a stone since Christmas! I don't own scales at home or at university, which I think is for the best as I'd probably constantly weigh myself. This means I judge myself on how I look and feel, which is the most healthy and fair way to do it, in my opinion. We are all different shapes and builds so if you feel that you look good, what does it matter what the scales say? I understand that when health comes into it you do have to take notice of weight to some degree, but I'm sure you understand what I'm trying to get across.

So when I went for a check up at the doctors and she happily informed me of the weight loss, I was quite chuffed to say the least! Unfortunately I don't know how I did it! I eat relatively well at university, but I often treat myself to chocolate and crisps. I also haven't been exercising (the running lasted for about a week!). I can't say what I've changed to warrant such a large weight loss but if I work it out I'll be sure to let you know!

I'm now back at home and last summer was where I gained the most weight so just maintaining this weight will be enough for me!

Tell me if you like these posts? This one was not very insightful! Any post requests?

Perfect hair combo!

                                     Hair Combo

Hey!

This is a hair combo that I've been rocking for a while and I think it's definitely strengthening my hair. To give you some hair history, I had my hair relaxed about a year ago. Relaxing, if you don't know, is when you permanently straighten your hair, like the opposite of a perm. I did it so that my hair would be easier to handle and style. Before that my hair was very thick with tight curls. Relaxing, like most things you do to your hair, damages it. My hair started getting too short for my liking and relaxing is a very expensive process, so when I left for university, I decided to grow it out. So I was left with quite damaged hair and as it started to grow out, tighter curls at the top and looser curls at the end. As if that wasn't bad enough, I'm also trying to grow at a full fringe I got cut in when my hair was straight. Not the easiest thing to work with!

The first product I put in is the Argan Oil after I've washed my hair. This is a sample I got out a Cosmopolitan magazine but i will definitely repurchase something similar when its done! This product actually comes out in cream form and I run that through the ends of my hair, not going above my ears.
The product on the left is a Tresemme leave- in conditioner from their Platinum Strength range. I saw this floating around the blogosphere and decided to give it a go. I put it in my hair after the Argan oil in an attempt to put some moisture back into My hair. This product claims to repair 2 years of damage, and although I wouldn't say it's done that, I do feel like its doing something.

I feel like these products have really helped my hair. It feels less brittle and softer. I do feel that my hair would benefit from another product for when I don't wash it so recommendations are most welcome! What are your favourite hair products?

Make Up On The Go

Make Up On The Go

Hey!

Thought I'd share some of my favourite products to take out with me. I'm not a fan of touch ups and high maintenance make up, I like my make up to stay where I put it in the morning. As well as this, I can't be weighing down my handbag anymore, I really do have the kitchen sink in there! So these are my fave products for on the go!

Kate Moss perfume
Scent is something you cant really help but re- spritz. A perfume that lingers around all day is a rare find. My perfume of choice is now running perilously low. I do love this perfume but it was just randomly thrown into my bag. Im currently trying to run down all my perfumes and start again with my collection.

Carex Refreshing Wipes
These are just plain handy to have around! I'm quite messy so these are an essential for a quick tidy up (or to get rid of my eye liner which tends to smudge round my eyes).

Miss Sporty lipgloss in Hollywood Boulevard
Would you believe me if I said this used to be a clear gloss? Don't think I would believe me either. I use this gloss to give matte lipsticks a bit of a shine. As majority of my lipsticks are of the pink shade, the pinky tinge doesn't show through, thank goodness!

Scandaleyes eyeliner in 001 Black
As I said earlier, my eyeliner (or mascara, I haven't isolated which one yet) tends to smudge so I'd use this to top up the eyeliner in my waterline. I'm going to buy all waterproof products for my eyes from now on to see if this helps.

Soap and Glory Hand Food
Another essential. I believe every blogger, or anyone else for that matter, owns one of these! Love the smell and rich creaminess, this hand cream stops my hands looking like that of a witch's.

Rimmel Match Perfection Pressed Powder in 200 Soft Beige
I don't have particularly oily skin, so touching up my powder isn't usually an issue. However if for some reason my foundation starts to wear or redness comes through, I like to carry this with me. For on the go, I don't mind applying this with the sponge they supply with it, though at home I would apply it with my Real Techniques Powder Brush. This compact is also handy because it has a mirror on the bottom of the powder, which I only found out after about 2 months of having it!

Cocoa Butter Vaseline
My holy grail of lip balms, it'd be a rare day to see me not carrying one of these! Love, love, love!

Cotton buds/ q- tips
I like to have a couple of these on me as they get rid of the smudged eyeliner with less disruption to the rest of my make up.

Rimmel lipstick in Oxford St Fuchsia
This is my current favourite day time lipstick. Another must for touch ups is lip products, I like to wear a balm under my lipstick which doesn't help the longevity either. I don't mind with lips however as you can't beat a fresh lip colour!

Finally hiding behind the products is the bag I carry all this in. It was free with purchase from Clinique. I keep meaning to buy a new one but as my mum says 'that make up bag works fine, don't you go buying another!'

Please excuse the grubbiness of these products! What products do you like to carry around? Do you like any of these?

My Summer fragrance!

Hey!

Thought I'd share with you today my summer fragrance. Its a lovely perfume by Marc Jacobs called OH, LOLA! I'm not the best at describing scents, I'm more of a 'ooh that smells good, I'll have that' sorta girl but I'll try. This perfume  has a heavy scent and doesn't smell particularly floral despite the Perfume Shop's website saying the 'heart notes' are Peony and Rose. I would say it was bordering on an evening perfume with its heaviness but because of the heavy scent, it means it lasts all day, which is great because the bottle is not the most travel friendly.

Marc Jacobs Lola

I'd definitely recommend a nip into Boots or the Perfume Shop to have a whiff at this, as it is amazing despite my bad scent description! Sorry!

What's your summer scent? Any perfumes you are loving at the minute? How do you like shorter posts like this?
